A walk down any underpriviledged community along Ghodbunder Road, Thane will show you homes that are crammed up spaces having little access to basic sanitation facilities and shortage of clean drinking water. Due to this, children often play in narrow streets with garbage strewn, open gutters and filth all around. Afflicted with conditions like these, children miss out on the common joys of growing up.
In 2011, Anand Ghars were started to cater to children between the age of 4 – 14, teaching them good values, imparting to them soft skills and creating a place that gives the security of a home that is filled with joy. Anand Ghars are conducted in homes, government schools and community halls.
