The antenatal and postnatal time is crucial in the life of a mother. Low immunity, lack of nutrition and basic medical care are the main reasons for complications during delivery. The quality of maternal and newborn health in these vulnerable settlements is poor. To add to this, the lack of information and cultural beliefs puts tremendous pressure on the mother.

The aim of this project is to promote and educate care seekers about healthy practices like nutrition, antenatal and postnatal care and the importance of institutional deliveries, breastfeeding and immunizations. We seek to improve nutrition and immunity of pregnant women so that the risks and complications, associated with childbearing, childbirth and babyhood, caused by preventable diseases is greatly reduced. To achieve this we have partnered with the existing Public Health Systems like the Municipal Primary Health Centre and Integrated Child Development Scheme.
